BEHAVIOR

Brush rabbits are a secretive and wary species that often forage alone or in small gatherings. Individuals control small territories and compete for resources.
DIET

Brush rabbits frequently forage in small clearings, feeding on grasses, forbs, and sedges, and adapt their diet to drier conditions by feeding on elderberry and oak.

HABITAT
The riparian brush rabbit can be found in brushy habitat where it can hide and forage. Brush rabbits prefer riparian areas containing dense thickets of willow and elderberry.
