  • Will more animals be added?
Yes! We plan to add many more diverse animals that will each have their own unique gameplay features.
  • Will there be baby animals & growth?
We currently do not plan to implement baby animals and their growth cycle to the game. This would take substantially more time to add that we would rather use to focus on the quality of other game features.
  • Will there be more cosmetic items added?
Yes. We plan to add many more realistic coats and emote rewards to purchase with tracks. Each coat will be grounded in scientific rigor to the realistic level of variation we would see in life for that animal.
  • What are Tracks and how do you earn them?
Tracks are the name of the in-game currency that can be earned by performing "Instincts", which are routine actions that your animal would naturally perform. Tracks can be used to purchase cosmetic items for your animal. Earn tracks by eating different plants, entering migration zones, hunting animals, maintaining territory, spotting predators, & more to come... (Disclaimer: Earning points from an action is on a cooldown timer in order to prevent abuse of the system.)
  • Will NPC animals be playable?
No. We chose and designed certain animals to be NPCs (non-player controlled animals) because we believe their gameplay would not be engaging for players.
  • How does the Instinct system work?
Instincts are natural actions that you perform as part of an animals natural gameplay. Performing instincts successfully rewards you with in-game points known as Tracks. Instincts can include things such as eating different plants, successfully hunting prey, & migrating.
  • Will there be weather?
Yes. There will be weather that reflects the in-game season, with strong storms during the wet season and droughts during the dry season.
  • What is Flee Mode?
Herbivores can use the alert call to reveal predators to their herd. When a predator is spotted, nearby herbivores have the option to enter flee mode by holding the 'spacebar'. Flee Mode significantly increases stamina but prevents you from attacking for several minutes.
  • What is Spooked Mode?
As a herbivore, being attacked before spotting a predator causes you to enter Spook Mode. Spook Mode works the same as Flee Mode except you are forced into it, and you can still attack predators that provoke you first. The length of Spook Mode varies depending on the size of your herd and how many predators attack. From the predator's perspective, prey becomes spooked when you successfully land an attack on the prey without being spotted first.
  • What are the animal group limits?
Saber-tooth cat: 5 Members Dire wolf: 10 Members Western horse: 15 Members Ancient bison: 20 Members While these are not the maximum size these animal's social groups could have reached in life, they are balanced for gameplay purposes. For example, the group limit for predators is based on how many individuals can pounce/latch a prey item at a time.
  • Do stats change depending on the animal's gender?
Only in ancient bison do the stats change with gender, with the bulls having more health and attack damage & the cow having more speed and stamina overall. Any further dimorphism (like the cheek ruff in Smilodon) is purely cosmetic.
  • How do you unlock the Saber-tooth cat and Ancient bison?
You must spot at least one predator as a western horse to unlock the ancient bison. You must take part in killing at least one bison or horse as a dire wolf to unlock the saber-tooth cat.
