BEHAVIOR
The desert cottontail is solitary, preferring to forage and shelter alone, exhibiting primarily nocturnal behavior.
DIET
90% of the desert cottontail's diet consists of grasses, supplemented by prickly pear fruit, which they derive the majority of their water intake from.
HABITAT
The desert cottontail thrives in arid and semi-arid environments, including deserts, scrublands, and grasslands, where it shelters in dense vegetation and burrows during the day.
